'Cornish Red' is a new Trecanna Hybrid to add to our collection. It forms a tall, open plant with strong purple stems supporting arching heads of 22 or more scarlet-red flowers, yellow at the base and with a very fine golden edge to each petal. The flowers are a touch larger than the well-known 'Lucifer' with rounder, less reflexed petals and the pleated leaves are reasonable narrow.
'Cornish Red' flowers for a long time, putting on a stunning display over many weeks. Mid-season, which means mid to late July onwards down here.
