Eucomis comosa 'Kilimanjaro' POTTED

Plant type: Bulb

This is a relatively new white flowered form of Eucomis comosa with sturdy stems up to 2ft high, and green strap-like leaves, up to 18" long. The flowers are soft white with pinkish centres. Superb in a container or in a sunny sheltered border.

South African Collection.

Eucomis originate in Southern Africa and are commonly known as 'Pineapple Lilies' due to the obvious resemblance of the flower head and its crown of leafy bracts. The display lasts from summer to late autumn which is exceptional for a bulb. They make excellent container plants and are lovely in the border. Water and feed well whilst in growth, but keep the soil dry in winter. Eucomis are surprisingly hardy provided they have a winter mulch and good drainage.
