Verbena bonariensis

Plant type: Perennial

RHS Award of Garden Merit
This is one of my favourite perennials - a real star in the garden. Originating from South America, it forms a veil of small purple flowers right through from June until November, excellent as a complimentary plant with Crocosmia. It loves a sunny well-drained position, well drained borders and gravel gardens are excellent. Butterflies and in particular the Humming Bird Moth love this plant. GOLDEN TIP - cover the base of the plant with straw or bark in winter but whilst the mother plant might not survive a cold winter, ensure you leave the old flower heads in place until at least March as they produce many seed over winter which will form new plants in Spring.

Here we supply young plants for you to plant out & grow on.
